Carl Bedwell


20-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, with over 15 years of his career directly related the successful structure and closing of debt and equity within the commercial mortgage banking arena.

Mr. Bedwell personally oversees the underwriting, presentation, quoting, negotiation and closing of all 2440-originated transaction volume, as well as any ongoing servicing related functions post-closing.

Prior to founding 2440 with Mr. Howe in January 2012, Mr. Bedwell was the Vice President and office manager for the Nashville office of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, in charge of all office operations, investor/lender relationship development, as well as the origination and underwriting of all debt and equity throughout Tennessee and the surrounding region. Prior to joining Grandbridge in 2006, Mr. Bedwell was Vice President and Senior Real Estate Analyst for CBRE/LJ Melody in Memphis, Tennessee, charged with the oversight and management of all transaction volume generated through the Memphis office.

Mr. Bedwell is well known for his extensive analytical skills and intimate knowledge of all forms of commercial real estate including investment grade retail, multifamily, office, medical office, industrial, and hospitality. His lender relationships are extensive, as well as his network of third party support providers, and he brings these relationships and resources to every assignment. Mr. Bedwell is a Tennessee licensed real estate broker, holds the CCIM designation, and is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Chris Howe


Brings almost 15 years of capital markets and commercial real estate finance experience to clients of 2440 Real Estate Capital Advisors. Prior to the formation of 2440, Mr. Howe held debt and equity production positions with both Grandbridge Real Estate Capital (formerly Laureate Capital) and its parent company BB&T. During his tenure with Grandbridge, Mr. Howe was primarily responsible for managing the firm’s production and marketing efforts in Nashville and other Tennessee markets.

Mr. Howe and Mr. Bedwell have successfully closed transactions that span all property types, utilizing all types of capital providers. As a result of their continuous effort to deliver the best execution to clients, the depth of their relationships amongst Life Insurance Companies, Agency lenders (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA), Banks, CMBS lenders, and Equity sources is unmatched.

Mr. Howe began his career with regional investment banking firm, Raymond James, and received his MBA in Finance from the Florida State University. He is currently a CCIM candidate and is an active member of NAIOP, NAA, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).


Has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate including mortgage loan originations, property acquisitions/dispositions and valuation analysis.

Prior to joining 2440, Alan was Director, Commercial Mortgage Lending for AEGON USA Realty Advisors, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky where he produced over $900 million of permanent mortgage loans in various regional territories across the U.S. during his 17-year tenure with the company. His expertise includes both single-property financings as well as large, multi-property, multi-location portfolio transactions of all property types.

Alan began his career as a commercial real estate banker with the First National Bank in Dallas and later spent several years working for a Dallas-based syndicator in financial analysis and property acquisitions/dispositions. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX (B.B.A. Business Management) and received his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is also licensed as a real estate broker in both Tennessee and North Carolina. Alan is an active member of Rotary Club and volunteers his time in support of several charitable organizations.
